Multiple area departments worked together recently in a multi-jurisdictional technical rescue training. Rescue swimmers conducted different rescues in a night operations mode. Shore based crews reviewed and implemented multiple low angle rope systems to remove patients from the rocky sand below. The final exercise ended with the Rescue Swimmers deploying from shore and securing the patient found to in a stokes basket. Shore based crews used a rope system from shore to retrieve the patient and swimmers from the surf. Shore crews then utilized a low angle rope system to retrieve the stokes basket and patient from the rocky sand below to the street level.

This training is one of multiple interoperational department trainings conducted throughout the year to ensure each a smooth working relationship between all involved.
