Taking a few steps ahead of time can help keep you and your family safe.

✔️ Before the Storm:
• Monitor official updates from the National Weather Service
• Charge cell phones and backup battery packs
• Stock up on essentials (food, water, medications — and yes, bread & milk 😉)
• Ensure you have flashlights, extra batteries, and a battery-powered radio
• Set thermostats appropriately and protect exposed pipes
• Check on neighbors who may need assistance

🚗 Travel Safety:
• Avoid unnecessary travel during the storm
• If you must drive, slow down and increase following distance
• Keep an emergency kit in your vehicle (blanket, flashlight, shovel, snacks)

🔥 Power Outage Preparedness:
• Use generators outdoors only and away from windows
• Never use grills or propane heaters indoors
• Have a plan if you rely on medical equipment requiring power
