Heat-related illnesses can develop quickly, especially for older adults, young children, outdoor workers, and those with medical conditions.

Know the signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke, limit strenuous outdoor activity during peak temperatures, drink plenty of water, and check on family, friends, and neighbors.

Cooling locations and resources are available throughout Charlestown, including the Charlestown Senior Center and Cross Mills Public Library during normal operating hours. If assistance is needed after hours, residents may contact the Charlestown Police Department.

In an emergency, call 9-1-1 immediately.
