| Blood donations are down nearly 30%, leaving less than a two-day supply available, the lowest collection levels seen since the COVID-19 pandemic. For those of us in EMS, this isn't just a statistic. Blood saves the lives of trauma patients, mothers experiencing severe bleeding, cancer patients, surgical patients, and countless others. When an emergency happens, there isn't time to make blood; it has to already be on the shelf. If you're eligible, please consider donating blood wherever it's most convenient for you. The need is immediate, and every donation helps ensure that blood is available when someone's life depends on it. If you're local, we'd love to see you at our upcoming Charlestown Ambulance - Rescue Blood Drive. 🩸 Thursday, August 13 Appointments can be made at ribc.org/drives using Sponsor Code: RR3654. Whether you donate at our drive or at another Rhode Island Blood Center location, thank you for helping ensure lifesaving blood is available when our patients need it most. One donation can make all the difference. ❤️🩸 |
