| Rescue 1’s crew and Deputy Chief Serra responded to the Charlestown Breachway Boat Ramp, while Marine 6 responded from its dock with an operator and rescue swimmer. Our rescue swimmers deployed and made their way to the patient. We would like to extend a special thank you to the bystanders who assisted our swimmers and provided the use of a paddleboard to help move the patient. The patient was safely transferred to Marine 6 and transported by boat to the Breachway ramp, where they were transferred to Rescue 1 for transport to a local hospital. Incidents like this highlight the importance of having trained personnel and specialized resources available to reach patients wherever an emergency may occur, on the road, on the water, or somewhere in between. Thank you to our crews and the members of the public who stepped up to help today. |
