At approximately 10pm last night, Charlestown Rescue, Cross' Mills Fire Department, and Charlestown Richmond Fire Department were dispatched to assist Charlestown Police Department with a lost/ injured party in the woods near the Moraine Preserve. While that party was assisted from the woods, it was learned there was another person lost/ disoriented in the woods. An exhaustive search was undertaken utilizing multi- disciplinary search teams and K9 teams from South Kingstown Police and Narragansett Police. At approximately 130am, a ground team of CARS personnel assisted by a Flir thermal imaging camera and Town of Charlestown, RI drone located the lost/ disoriented individual. They were guided out of the woods and evaluated by our volunteers. One person was transported to Westerly ED and all units were clear by 2am.
